We started Halden Heating and Air Torrance in 2004 with a simple belief: the person who shows up at your door matters as much as the tools they carry. Our crew is made up of people who actually live and work in the South Bay. They know the difference between a Torrance summer afternoon and a Redondo Beach marine layer evening because they deal with both every week. What unites us isn’t a corporate training manual. It’s that nobody on this team will hand you a bill that wasn’t written down and agreed to before the work started. Every tech, every installer, every person who answers the phone operates under the same standard: written price first, written guarantee on every repair, and a free return visit if something isn’t right. That’s The Relay Standard, and it applies from the first phone call to the final walkthrough.
Styles & brands we work with

Our People
Andre Fuller, Owner and Lead HVAC Technician
Andre founded Halden Heating and Air Torrance in 2004 after years of working for outfits that treated customers like invoice numbers instead of people. He’s state-licensed and insured, and he’s spent two decades diagnosing everything from failed capacitors to full system replacements across Torrance, Gardena, Lomita, and the surrounding South Bay. Andre will tell you he’s seen units from 1987 that “technically still work, the same way a flip phone technically still calls people.” His specialty is tough diagnostic work on aging systems, and he’s the one who signs off on every written guarantee before a repair is ever put in front of a customer. If you call with a question nobody else can answer, you’ll likely end up talking to Andre.
Marcus T., Senior Installer
Marcus has been with Halden Heating and Air Torrance for eleven years, and he leads every full system installation we do. He’s certified to service Carrier, Trane, Lennox, Goodman, Rheem, York, Daikin, Bryant, and American Standard equipment, which means he can walk into a home with a 20-year-old Rheem and leave it with a Daikin that’s sized correctly for the space. Marcus is the one who takes care of the load calculations before any install gets scheduled, because a unit that’s too big or too small is just a future service call with different branding. The guy is methodical to the point where his work truck tool layout hasn’t changed in five years. If a return visit ever happens on one of his installs, which is rare, he’s the one who takes it personally.
Dana R., Service Coordinator
Dana is the voice you’ll hear most often when you call (424) 358-3791. She’s been answering phones for Halden Heating and Air Torrance for seven years, and she handles scheduling, dispatching, and the live arrival tracking that lets you watch your tech drive to your door instead of sitting through a four-hour window. Dana keeps a running list of every active job in Torrance on a whiteboard next to her desk, which is either a sign of old-school discipline or a mild aversion to spreadsheets, depending on who you ask. The important part is that when you call with a no-cooling emergency in July, Dana is the one who gets a background-checked, uniformed tech moving in your direction. She doesn’t do voicemail trees, and she doesn’t hand you off to a call center.
Leo B., Apprentice Technician
Leo joined the team two years ago through a South Bay trade program, and he’s working toward full certification under Andre and Marcus. Right now he handles maintenance visits, filter changes, capacitor checks, and the kind of preventive work that keeps a Torrance AC unit from quitting during a heat wave. Leo grew up in the South Bay and has a habit of noticing when a neighborhood’s older homes still have original ductwork from the 1960s, which he’ll mention in a genuinely fascinated way. He’s background-checked, uniformed, and rides along on repairs to learn diagnostic work firsthand. Every maintenance visit Leo completes comes with a written report of what was actually found, and if he flags something that needs a repair, you get the price in writing before anything gets touched.
One Standard, Every Job
Every person on this team operates under The Relay Standard, which is what ties Halden Heating and Air Torrance to the broader Relay Home Co. network of independently owned and operated HVAC businesses across California. That standard starts with a written price before any work begins, on every job, without exception. It continues with a written guarantee on every repair, included with service, not sold as an add-on. And it ends with the 365-Day Done Right Promise: a full year of accountability on every completed job. If a repair fails within the guarantee window, we return at no charge. No arguing, no fine print, no phone tag. The Relay Visibility Guarantee is why you can book online with two minutes of your time, get a live arrival time, and track your tech to the door instead of wondering if anyone is actually coming. Andre, Marcus, Dana, and Leo all answer to the same thing: a standard that doesn’t change based on who’s on the call sheet that day. Call (424) 358-3791 and you’ll talk to a real person who can get a real tech to your door with a real written price.
